Chanielle

I really enjoy racing the sunset to get the last possible image before the magic is gone. This first image is just that. (Well, in my opinion anyway) It was getting really cold but Chanielle was very polite and was willing to take one more image.

That is one of the great things about shooting these 15 minute sessions.  There is just no time to think about much….you see the sun going down and you need to just do it and get it done before all the light is gone.  Such a rush!

It was kind of hard for Chanielle to not smile but she did managed to pull off a serious look for a few frames. Serious or not this young lady was very much at ease in front of the camera. (no matter what she said before we started to shoot)

And then it was back to her natural state of happiness.

And don’t let the smile fool you either. She plays a mean game of Slap Jack and Double Solitaire.

A short session on election day

To take time away from the madness we call “general elections” I took time to photograph Jess. As with my earlier images in my non-traditional sessions I wanted these images to carry a darker, quieter tone. For some reason Jess’s images were telling me to make them a bit brighter….

I had photographed Jess once before a year or so ago at Nags Head, NC. She is just a super easy person to work with and a pretty solid assistant!

Not only a subject but an assistant!

Nags Head 2015

Okay.  Election is over…back to work.

Non Traditional Portraits

I was growing tired of colorful/big smiles kind of portraits.  So I decided to change things up a bit and create a more intimate and sober, yet intimate portrait for people.  A bit darker but pretty telling in the attitudes.

Couples or individuals…. I really liked the results.

I have three spots open before Thanksgiving.  Contact me here to claim your place.  And yes, these would be ready and printed in time for Christmas and the Holiday season! I also have a few more options here!
